I have a spare block i need sleeved. Its a custom job cause i've been looking and calling everywhere BUT locally for a very long time, and no sleeve company makes a kit for it and i can't get sleeve kit specs to compare which one would be proper for my 420a. I'm putting a 2.2 stroker kit in it and i'm shooting to break the record next year. With a sleeved, stroked, 2.2 at 40 lbs of boost, amongst other things. I should be able to do it. I just need someplace to sleeve my block for me. Money's no object. If you guys know anyone in a machine shop that wants to take it on, let me know. I'm looking at having it done in jan. or feb. And then in june or july firing it up......if i can get it sleeved. I'm not even gonna do it if i can't. I want to moly womp zero's record and unless i get it sleeved, that won't happen.

I'd go for the stock motor record first. ;)

Crawl before you walk.

However I am sure you could contact any sleeve manufacturer and have a 1 off set made if money is no object.

what do you mean no one makes sleeve for 420a's I did one search and found this http://www.rpmmachine.com/cylinder-sleeves.shtml

but If you want to have a block sleeved. you better be prepaired to pay a lot at machine shop. Sleeves are not cheap and machining the block for them takes time.

Joe, stop responding to my posts. You obviously don't like me for whatever reason, so just stop caring about me and what i do. You don't even know me other than the fact that i have GS and not a TSi or GS-T.

Thank you for the link griffin. I've been searching, quite literally, for a year now, to no avail. I plan on learning MS with my current block so i can tune the 2.2 properly. I do plan on beating the stock record this year or early next, with meth, Corey. Everyone that runs meth on 420a's build the block first. I want to see what it'll let a stock block do. I figure i've got a spare. So what the hell?

no problem
When I was in school for my degree a kid had a supra motor with bad cyclinder we sleeved that block.
After we got cyclinder bored and put the step in to set the sleeve on. Then have wait for it to cool so metal dont distort. They intermently fit into cylinder and extra cut down smoothed to block then have deck the block chanfer cyclinder theres lot of little steps.
but if you mess up a sleeve you can replace it.

that's exactly why i want sleeves, they're replacable. That's why i said jan or feb and firing it up june or july, i hope 6 months is enough time. If not, i'll have to wait longer. Thanks again for the link, you put me one step closer.

Best of luck man. It takes a lot of time and money and experience to build a reliable race car. Put time into getting good parts, and pick a turbo that will suite your engine. Mega Squirt is a pain in the ass and over rated by its users, get the AEM ecu. If you've never tuned with a full standalone, be careful. Just out of curiosity what is the stock block record ET and MPH in the 1/4?

i'm going with an xs power T-70 for my turbo which i've found is going to be perfect for what i want to do. I would go with aem's ecu but it's way more expensive (close to 900 dollars) and symtech has made a pnp specifically for my year of wire harness. And i've got a few friends already using ms that can help me tune. I'll find out what the stock record is. I'll see about na and boosted. I've got the time and money, and i'm always gaining experience. With my engine, the only knowledge i don't have is the engineering standpoint.

I know that the N/A 420a record is 212whp. The guy that holds that record was pitted next to us at the shootout. He also has a boosted 420a with a B/W s366 that he just finished building. I think he said it made 486whp on 24lbs boost. He said that there is a lot more left in it.

I would not trust an XS power turbocharger as anything but a paperweight.

I still feel bad for XS Engineering which is an amazingly good company who's name got shit on by the chinese/taiwanese knock off parts importer that is XS Power.
