Is it just me or is everyone else getting tired of STILL hearing about swine flu? The made this huge deal about it and yet in a year it has killed less people than normal flu viruses do in a month. Aparently, the people that die from it actually die because thier own imune system overreacts and attacks their body. I'm just anoyed that the media outlets have turned into terrorist basically and tired of eveyone freaking out about it. But serisouly, calling it a pandemic? It's just going to be a crapy flu season and if you get sick you should make more of an effor to go to the doctor and get checked out. The biggest kicker is that they aren't giving the vaccine to anyone 25 - 65 because they aren't "high risk." If it's a pandemic, wouldn't eveyone be "high risk?" Oh well. I'm done ranting now.

Agreed, a majority of the people who die from this in younger ages are dying from just not doing anything about it until it's too late. If you feel like shit, see a doctor. It's not a big deal. If you don't, then do whatever.

Being a father with kids I am a little concerned. I do think they are blowing it out of proportions. They are only giving it to the kids now because the flumist is the only thing that is available. It has weakened live virus in it and is more harmful to adults but better for kids. Later this month the H1N1 flu shot will be available for all ages. Elderly are encuraged to get that. This virus seams to affect seamingly healthy people more than the standard flu and kids and those pregnant are more at risk. I am riding the fence on if I or the kids should get it. There are not so good things in flu vaccines. They put mercury and formaldehyde and a few other chemicals in vaccines to give it more shelf life. Those things (over time) may be more harmful than the flu bug itself.

The last bit of your post is why I'm not going to bother. I just think it's really odd all the shit they put in it and what kind of long lasting effects injecting small amounts of Mercury directly into ones Veins would have...

The media claims there is no virus in the vaccine. But last I checked, your immune system couldn't produce antibodies unless there was an actual virus to learn how to kill. But hey, that is basic biology.

Don't even bother if your allergic to eggs. That is how they make the cultures of virus's for the flu shots. There is also a high risk of getting Gullian-Barre syndrom from the Flu shot. Basically makes your immune system attack your nervous system. When that happens is it can paralyze you and cause you to stop breathing. What a shitty way to die. In 1976 swine flu scare, more people died from the vaccine than the virus itself. ~25 died from the vaccine. Lots of people sued over it and got money, but now you can't even sue the companies that make the shot anymore. They passed a law that doesn't allow you to sue the pharmaceuticals if you die from the flu shot now. Oh yea, the swine flu shot got passed by the FDA without proper trial testing done first. Need I say more?

Completely agree. This is another media scare. I will never get a flu shot, ever. Didn't you guys hear, an apple a day keeps the doctor away, and that enough whiskey kills anything?

People think they need medicated for everything! If you have a virus many doctors will give you antibiotics for it but truth is, antibiotics only kill bacteria. But people want a pill if they are sick, and I suppose that can possibly help you from getting a bacterial infection, but the more you use anitbiotics the less they work. You kill all the bacteria except the ones that are resistant to the antibiotics and then those live on and reproduce.

Exactly. And this process screws everyone. This is true for most any medicine. Your body/viruses/bacteria all get used to what is being thrown at them and then the medicine no longer works anymore. Plus medicine is so expensive today. I saw a guy in front of me at the pharmacy the other day pay over $500 for 3 perscriptions. It's just crazy. If mankind is going to exterminate itself then it is going to be something like I am Legend. We are going to make something that is wonderful that turns out to kill us all. I just saw a comercial the other day about the birthcontrol Yazmin or whatever was causing things like heart Arrhythmia and some other stuff. Same thing with artificial sweeteners. They may not make you fat, but they are really bad for you. I'd rather be fat and live longer than skinny with cancer.

Yea my wife did take Yaz too. I saw the lawsuit people advertising it on foxnews. Why do you think people are moving towards having Organic foods and such too. Who knows what the pesticides can do to us. We know the FDA isn't out to really help american people, they are helping the government make money too.

i had to take the daughter to redimed last night in order to get a doctors note to get her back into school because she missed 3 days of school and she tested positive for H1N1!!!!
i would of never guessed it either she had/has it very mildly or it isnt that bad she never vomited her fever was never over 99.5 and she just complained of a headache and had a cough. the doctor told us that yes it may be called the swine flu but the keyword is flu for 99.99999% percent of people nothing bad happens and its over in 2 weeks just like the flu
