Ian's Street Survival class got cancelled and re-scheduled for Nov. 1st, so I was poking around on the Fort Wayne SCCA website. October 25th is a TSD Rally, starting in Leo-Cedarville, anybody done one of these? Looks like you just need to get to the right place at the right time, not too fast, not too slow. Themes, mysteries, prizes? Anybody? Kyle, your thoughts? http://www.fwscca.com/Drift/Newsletters ... _DRIFT.pdfpage 13.

Never participated. Alot of the people I didn't like in the club attended these and driving places at legal speeds wasn't that interesting to me.

I have never personally done one. I have heard they are fun. If it is what I am thinking of you follow there instruction and try to get there first.

I do think this is a good way to get your son driving in cool events and I'm sure he'd probably enjoy it.

Ha ha! Ya I agree with that one. Now if they closed the road and let you just go for it, that would probably be worth it.

I would mind doing it if it was like the old road rallies. When you had to figure out were to go. This just sounds like all you need is cruise control on your car.

It is probably not just driving up and down State Street. A little clicking around says most are run on paved and gravel roads of interest, in Leo maybe you can race an Amish kid. I guess the odometer and timing thing is pretty exact, measured in 1/100 of a minute based on very sophisticated odometer that needs to be calibrated to the Rally Master's to be on. Checkpoints are hidden and you are recorded by an observer as you go by. Sounds fun, but like Kyle says, you should enjoy the company too.

Ahh gotcha. Sounds a lot like bracket racing to me but in a much more advanced way.
I like to go as fast as I can though. This is why I've never bracket raced, I just don't get it.
