Okay guys, I'm making this topic for an open discussion of goals and builds for next season. Just give a description or some numbers of what you want to achieve. Whether that is a 9.99... cough Krebs cough, or to get your car running down the strip... cough Polish cough lol
I'm wanting to break into the 11's on my Big 16g. I am working on a "To Do" list so I can stay on track. Here is my current set-up:
91 Talon TSi AWD
8.3:1 Wiseco Pistons on Eagle H-Beam rods
BS Removed, Balanced bottom end
Cometic HG
Bronze guides, stainless valves, stock cams and springs
Kevlar T-Belt
2G Midly Ported Exh. Mani.
MHI Big 16g
3" Turbo-back Exh. w/ no Cat
Punishment FMIC
GM MAF/T
AEM UEGO
PocketLogger
PTE 680s
AFPR
Walbro 255
Stock T.B. and Int. Mani.
SPEC Stage 2+ Clutch
Stock Trans and X-case
A/C and P/S deleted
All of this with minimal seat time is giving high 12's.
I am planning on doing this... possibly lol
Rebuild Trans (Evo gears)
AEM EMS
Poly Mounts
272 Cams w/ Adj. Gears
Valve Springs
Meth Injection
I am listing this all also for debate and insight. I'm just trying to get everything out of my 16g lol I've been researching alot of the 11 sec 16g builds and I see how able it is to do. So let's here it.

Season is not over yet man. A transmission with double syncros, revised forks and rails, with a 4 spider center diff will help you a lot. Unless your not staying in the power band in 4th gear you don't really need the close ratio gears, especially with a turbo that makes power below 5500rpms. It may help you out if you get cams and rev it a little higher, but with your power band I think you would be fine without them. You just need something you can bang into gear and will hold together on the launch.
I really think your car has mid 12's in it now, put some race gas in it, turn the boost up, and power shift it.

I don't see anything for tuning right now except the MAFT. I think you need as a minimum a Keydiver chip to compensate for the larger injectors. Best choice would be a DSMlink. I don't konw what your plans are for your car but EMS is up there and in my option isn't needed unless running a very large turbo. There are alot of things I would do before I would get an EMS.
With race gas you should have mid to low 12's at 115+ mph as it sits.

EMS will defiantly give the most options for tuning, but V3 is seeming pretty nice. With the option of speed density to get rid of the maf-t for more consistent operation. Like Craig said, a chip might be a good idea too, something better for injector compensation.

Yes all I have right now is the MAFT to tune... sucks nuts. I've considered many options across the table. The first thing is the MAF has to go. Especially the GM MAF w/Translator. The chips are cheap but I still can't tune which is what I love to do. I've been doing to research into Jackal also, that systems seems really nice but it is so hard to get a hold of one of the Ostrich modules. Link isn't too bad except there are limitations to parameters and other compensations. With the EMS, which I have been gaining experience on the past few months with on my buddy's car, I have access to every and all logic. I want to have the capabilities at my fingertips.
I have thought about putting race gas in it and seeing what happened but with only the MAFT I don't want to push my luck. I have been debating with the Meth injection because I want to still use my 680s and pump gas for the most part. BTW that is something I thought somebody would hate on lol So I figured I could spray some meth and turn the boost up and stay in the efficiency range of the turbo. Also, how would 272's affect my spool? Keith at Pure Tuning said I would loose spool with 272s, he suggested 264s at the most on the 16g. That way I would keep spool for the street. Anybody have some knowledge on the effect of cams on a turbo?
My stock trans cannot handle power shifting, it somtimes won't even go into gear just messing around on the street. I for sure am doing the double syncros on 2nd and probably 3rd, and installing the 4-way center diff. I just figured while I'm doing it I could do the Evo gears for the close ratio. That way when I do swap out the 16g, basically everything will be ready and able to handle it.
I am just trying to get every drip of performance out of my 16g and keep my options open for the upgrade.
I am hoping I can talk the woman into letting me do one more trip to the track and see if I can hit a mid 12. After Keith crashed at the shootout, she has been a little leary of me racing... but I'll prolly end up talking her into it lol

maybe you'd want to get the intake manifold ported, or a bigger throttle body? Maybe one of those fancy magnus intakes like krebs has. Didnt keith suggest a bigger wastegate or something too? I'm trying to remember what he was suggesting, but i cant remember what was for who .
As for me, i ran 17.9@80, and this is what i have/want to do:
Current:
F22a stock
SRI
4-2-1 header
Upcoming plans:
Bisimoto built Golden eagle F22 88mm bore (2.3l), bisi spec rods/pistons
Fully ported/polished/port matched bisimoto head/IM/exhaust manifold
New throttle body (idk if i'm gonna use a bored stock, s2k, or what)
JDM prelude auto trans w/ LSD, built (recommend someone please )
RC 1200cc fuel injectors, new pump and fpr
Treadstone T3/T4 turbo kit ( http://treadstoneperformance.com/produc ... F22B%2FH23)
2.5" exhaust (3" if it turns out i need it)
hondata s300 full setup
GM 3 bar map
That's what i want motor wise, i hope to have this built next summer. As long as my job search works out it should be no problem. If anyone has any criticisms/suggestions with the setup, i'd be happy to hear them. I didnt include any of the body shit since they dont make the car faster. I think just driving better can beat my 17.9, but i think with such a built block i can run a ton of boost and probably put down some good times. Someone on the board is doing 500, and that's on a stock block so maybe that's within reach.

i may not get the motor itself done by then (especially if i get another car) but i at least want the whole top end, exhaust, drivetrain and ecu done. We'll see how it works out I'll probably have aaron over at pure do a lot of the work, if i'm spending so much on parts i'd want to make sure they're together right.
Oh, and i forgot i want the ESP sway bar kit, strut tower bars and traction bars, and convert my rear brakes to disc and maybe an odyssey 5 lug conversion, ROH conversion for the front. Get some new struts and springs, and then my car would ride a lot better.

Hey Corey, I got to reading through your list and I noticed that you want to run an SCM61xx turbo with 1000+ injectors with only a walbro 255... You're probably going to need more fuel volume for that. Either dual intank pumps, a bosch 044 inline with the 255 intank, or if you want to get crazy an A1000 inline with the 5 gallon fuel cell! lol

SCM61 arrived today, it's actually the only thing I've ordered so far.
It's the internal gate model so from my readings it will only hold about 25psi before it blows open, so I won't be making crazy 10 second power right away. Plus it's staying as a stock block for now aside from ARP's and maybe cams if I can find some cheap. I just want to be able to make big power on pump gas without the car in full kill mode. I'm thinking anything in the 11's on pump fuel in full street trim and I'll be happy. So we'll see how far I can push a single intank pump and stock block.
-for those who don't want to read my blog I posted I'll just copy paste my semi plan here as well.
ALL MAINTENANCE ITEMS. (Seals, Gaskets, Belts, Filters, Fluids, and so on)

I've got the HKS 272's in my car and my spool may have taken a small hit with the 18g but it seemed to be well worth it.

If your purpose is drag racing I wouldn't worry about spool. The 272's should give your some top end and give your more room with the next turbo upgrade.

Yea my car doesn't see the street very much, and even if it does I'm not trying to pull 23 psi from every stoplight... just most of them lol My basic goal this winter is to fix the things holding me back right now (i.e. MAFT and stock trans) and still keep my options open for that little extra later on.
