no I tried good used transistor. yes I am logging with the palm m100. no John if you let off the throttle and then get on it again it stills knocks and misfires. Engine makes no knocking noise, but it spark knocks no matter with or without the boost. It is more throttle related, boost makes it run worse but it still shows knock with the free reving engine.I don;'t think the logs are going to show you much more than I already know.i still believe it is fuel related.I need to bring this car to the meeeting so everyone can take it for spin and tell me what they think about it.Guys I work on cars for 14 years now, work as a mechanic in the shop for 10 years ,trust me when I tell you, this car is something else, this is not a easy repair. If you think you have an idea what it is please come to my house and fix it for me and I will reward you

Somethings wreaking havoc on your knock sensor. Either something on the motor is rattling or you have a bad wire to the sensor. Fuel pressure wouldn't cause it to knock just free-revving it. I'd start by running a new wire from the ecu to the knock sensor. Then check everything on the motor and make sure everything is tight ie. no slop in any motor mounts, no slop or knocking in the the a/c compressor, alternator, water pump, no exhaust hitting the motor, no noisy lifters, etc. etc. You could also get a chip if you have an eprom ecu that will ignore knock until 85% throttle position and below 3500 rpm. It will usually cure phantom knock, but you are better off finding the cause, if possible.

Just a question also Al. What injectors and what ecu do you have in the car? The auto cars use 390cc injectors and the manual cars use 450's. The ecu needs to match the injectors in the car.

John, I have 450cc right now in it because i upgraded turbo to 14b,I tried 390cc injectors also but I do have s-afc that I tune with,I tried adding fuel ,taking fuel it doesn't make any difference in sputtering problem or knock.I will go ahead and try what you said ,run new wire from ecu to the knock sensor and see if there is anything that makes noise that causes knock sensor to pick up the knock and will let you know thanks Al

just out of curriosity have you checked your t-belt and marks to make sure the engine is actually in time and also checked your CAS sensor and timing I dont belive ive seen any thing in your post about checking them either. One tooth off on the intake came will run ok and then fall off also same with the exhaust but if intake came is advanced to far cant get ampel fuel in the cumbustion chamber fast enough before valve closes also CAS sensors in general just suck and they can be finikie bastards i had one pull all timing once due to a internal short to ground. also may have just to much timing thrown in there for the car to run correctly at higer rpms. One last thing have you checked your spark moduel is the correct one for the year of car because if im not mistaken there is some wire reversing that needs to be done between the diffrent years of modules its been so long since ive messed with that stuff i cant rember the wiring thing but im sure terry might rember we messed with mine somany times swaping computers and dashes and ignition systems.
