I checked the starter be for I bolted it on and its the starter I taken it to have checked not that long ago.
It takes some effert to get to rotate when comeing up one to the cams but it doent bind or feel like it to hits any thing and all time marks still on point.

maybe make sure all of your grounds are hooked up and your battery terminals arent F'ed in any way. My positive terminal had a big ass crack in the car and i wondered why it always cranked so slowly, even with the yellow top and i noticed when i was replacing it that it had that giant crack. With new cables it starts up fine. I also think that the ground's exposed copper portion down where it bolted to the starter being 1/2 broken wasnt helping either.

Its nothing like that all that has been replaced and is new.
I just wondering if in that accident if didnt bend the crank that cause it to be to hard for starter to crank.
I have to get up on it to crank it and once the cam springs push down around it take no effert like.
I going to have to take my toqure wrench see how much force it takes to rotate make sure in spec.
mavisky IF it is to hard to crank it could have burned up the starter I going recheck starter but if it is then new starter will not be the silver bullet cure. but thanks

yes the timing belt is new.
I left old timing belt on rotated engine to aline all timing makrs up removed old one and intalled new belt. Rotated engine 6-8 times make sure belt would not jump timing. Ang get the tenchener set.

You rotated the engine before you set the tensioner?

Sounds like you have a poor ground or a loose connection somewhere in the starting circuit. If you can turn the engine over at all by hand, a starter that has good connections will buzz it over.
Stop thinking about your past catastrophic engine damages and focus on your battery connections. Make sure you have a good ground from your block to firewall or battery.

Agreed. I had a motor in my s-10 lock up on me. Got it home, left the thing on the charger all day, ran wiring straight to the starter, and it actually started it and ran for a little while screaming and screeching all the way. There's something wrong with the starting system, may not be just the starter itself.

Glad to help. Sometimes as shadetree mechanics, especially with dsm's, it's easy to assume the worst and overlook the simplest solutions.
