no heat huh... Any drastic change is temp will fog those windows up pretty quick. no heat or a/c is gonna make keeping that windshield clear when it goes from 90 to 60 and rain really difficult.

Me either. I think you can buy portable heat for use inside cars that just needs a 12v source.

There so much after market stuff for cars. I want my engine bay to free of all extra crap in it. thats extra hoses, vac lines, cruise control loop and box.

I want to find a eletric motor power steering unit, to get rid power steering pump and hydrolic lines.

Honda and Mercedes makes one and there now making them for classic cars. The motor hides easly in the dash. And uses a torsion bar messure input from the driver gave and then kicks in when need.

A manual rack is not hard to drive. It is stiffer than power when sitting still but once your start to roll just a little bit, You don't even notice a difference. IMO.

There's a difference between driving a car with a manual rack and driving one with the power steering pump removed. Especially when you're talking about a 3200lb awd car.

I now right know my pump is shot lines are to most likely would blow with go pump on it. I read about eletric seemed intresting from parking lot, and low mph handling.
I was looking last night before I went to work and there is not eletric rack set for 1g. I was not able to find any thing right way most are still for classic. Some talking chevy's small cars that use it. I read about them in school took one apart.

i took out the ps and ac on mine a couple years ago. I know it's not good for the rack, but it's not that hard to drive. I'm about to pull the heater core as well as soon as i get a daily. That there hair dryer idea is the bees knees. I never would have thought of that.

I need to relook at the rack see if seals are leaking in to the boots. When I first got it they were still in good shape. If they are I could just take pump and lines off cap them off keep dirt out. Then change it over later.

Electric pumps can be very tricky to work right. I know of one guy with a working one right now and he has some of it wired in through his AEM to control voltage to it. Otherwise you get way too much power assist at lower speeds.

If you're really hell-bent on getting rid of the power steering then I'd look into a 1.8 manual rack. They're getting very hard to find however so expect to pay a premium for one.

If you take the power steering off, I wouldn't cap them off. Instead I would run a loop. There will still be fluid in the rack that needs to move when you steer and if you cap it it will be a lot harder to turn. A manual rack is the best solution.

I looped my hoses on my steering rack ,it sucks.
I need to get manual rack also because it is getting real hard turning with 245/40 18'S,it is quite a workout!
