Ive been thinking about selling my car... I dont know what its worth, but I just feel the need for a change. I am thinking about going in a different direction and getting a C5. The prices have come down quite a bit on them and they are easy to modify. You can open one up for around 1500 and easily push 400hp. What are some of your thoughts?
As far as my car goes. Its a 1995 Talon AWD 5 Speed, with 95000 or so miles. The car is rust free. I have done the basic mods: FPT28 turbo, apexi N-1 down pipe, 3" no cat back, K & N Filter, 550 injectors, Adjustable FPR, Act2100, 18" Rims on new Parada's, misc gauges, SAFC... As Kyle would say its a CliTalon, since I had a body shop do a complete Eclipse 97-99 body upgrade on it. The color is the original Talon Metalic Dark Green. Some on here have worked on this car and can verify to how original and untoched this car is. I have owned this car since 2000. I am the second owner of this car. The car was factory original when I bought it.

The C5 is a bad ass car no doubt. Prices have definitely came down on them, and if you don't drive your Talon in the winter then its not a bad idea. I love the C5 body style and the LS1 is an awesome engine. Good combination.

No, I havent driven the car in the winter for the past 3 years. It just sits in the garage, much like it has for the past 2 years, since my son was born. Thats why I think if I had something different, then I might drive it more. Having the same car for 9 years, it just gets a little old, even though when I take my car out it still turns heads. Who knows, I may test drive a C5 and hate it.

If you are ready for a change than go for it. One thing you have to remember is a vette is not a family car. Chances are you will be the only one driving it because now you have a son. Unless you plan on putting him in the trunk the whole family can not drive it. That is where I would say the Talon would be a better car. It can still hold two adults and 2 children. Have you considered any other 4 seat sports cars?

You're not crazy at all. Mine's been listed since last year.
Best of luck finding a buyer at a good price right now, it seems that the number of those with disposable income is about 1/4 of what it used to be.

This picture is from a couple of years ago. Nothing has changed, but I have more that are on my external HD at work. I will try to get more up.
I thought about the whole 2 seater thing, but I dont use the talon as a family car as it is. I cant think of a better bang for the buck. Another thing that is making me want to sell is that in my business image is everything. If I pull up in my eclipse with the loud exhaust, rims etc. it doesnt put forward the best image. I find myself not wanting to drive it when I am working. I already look younger then I am and when I pull up in this, I can only imagine what some of my older clients would be thinking. On a personal level I couldnt give a f*ck. Financially I care. lol.

Yeah I know its not the best time to sell. If I cant sell it, then I cant sell it. I am in no hurry and I figure if it takes another year, then I can get a year newer vette.
What are your plans?

Beautiful. Same boat here, if I don't sell my talon, I'll just keep it for winter driving.

Same thing. I'm actually installing a wideband in it right now. Then in a month or so here I'll probably rip the head off and re-ring the block as I'm 99% sure that's where my issues are. I may try to get a leakdown test on it if I can find someone with the equipment and the know how.
If mine goes I'm going to be shopping for an old Datsun 240-280z, but not the god awful 280zx.

Hi Kyle,
Yes, my 73 240Z was a ton of fun, very luxurious with a lot of upgrade potential (that I could not afford). Primitive smog crap is eazy to pull off. Carbs are easier to work with than 1975 fuel injection on the 280's. You can jet the SU Hitachis or upgrade to Weber$. The inline 6 is half tractor, half Supra, or if you find one with a bad motor, there is a kit to drop in a V8. I sold mine to a high school kid for $600, last one I saw at Auburn was $15,000. Good luck.
E.

I will vouch for Court's car as I've seen it plenty of times before and it's absolutely gorgeous.
