We've been on the new forums for two months now... How is everybody liking it? Is anyone still sad about losing the aimoo site?

I'm definitely liking the new site compared to the old one. Did the old one even tell you if you if there were new posts in topics?

I just got an email last week that aimoo FINALLY got everything straightened out. Our board is back up but I'd have to go through and re-do the layout again. Plus I don't think I want to go through a down time again like that. This board seems pretty reliable for a freebie. I wonder how many people they lost.

I'm not real sure how many they lost, but I'd guess it was a good number.

We've got the fwscca site back up through Aimoo and I like it. Not much new over the last stuff though.

http://www.aimoo.com/forum/freeboard.cf ... Caches=Yes

Apparently Aimoo had two servers running. One that our old forums were on and a test server for the new upgrade. Well shortly after setting up the second server the first server started to have issues and they were looking at the realistic possibility of losing everything altogether or do their best to back it up and make the switch to the barely tested new software. They switched to the new server at which point the old server did crash completely after they had backed up about 85% of the forums. Some people lost everything completely. We at fwscca got lucky and were able to save all of our information shy of signatures and avatars.

Man I bet the people who lost everying won't be using their new server. So far so good on this server though. Sometimes it seems really slow though. Not really sure what thats about but I do think it is better than the old ammoo.
