Random questions here everybody. I am doing to research and surveying for a project. So here it goes. What brings you out to a car show? Any kind of car show. What makes it good or fun? What makes it appealing? And please, don't just say cars lol Why do you think the Street Scene Show-Off collapsed?

It collapsed because it was poorly organized, and a couple years ago someone nearly got shot at it. The main reason they had it was because one of the DJ's bought a Hyundai Tiburon from us with a body kit on it and wanted to show off.

I go to car shows for the people.

To be honest I could care less about the cars most of the time. I went out of MOD 09 in Illinois and hardly looked at any cars at all.

I just wish I could have back my cars from that car show.

I like my the car I have now much better than the one I had then. I had a Bronco then. I had a lot of fun with that truck, but I like my Talon more. I was mostly into stereos then. By the way, I did actually go to the first street scene thing. I had the Bronco with the 2 12 L5 in a huge ported box that took up the entire back of the truck. I put it in an audio comp once, just to see what I would hit. I hit 130. Not bad for just a toy.

I completely agree. Hot 107.9 went completely in the wrong direction with the Street Scene Show-Off. Remember SCREAMIN' WHEELS!! lol It collapsed because of the lack of sponsors, go figure lol So what are some specifics? Why do you think they lost sponsors? What could have been done differently, even from the organizing aspect?

I don't really go to car shows because I don't like trailer queens. Now if someone actually drives it like the car is designed and then wants to show it off, I am all for that.

I don't like hip hop so I would never go to a Hot 107.9 car show.

O I'm not talking about trailer queens, I'm talking about real life cars, trucks, and bikes that are awfully clean to be driven on a Fort Wayne street lol Maybe a couple tho just because they look that damn good :D

What if there was no specific radio station involved? Maybe a DJ or a live band? Or some more "easy listening" type of music?

I went to a car show in Fairmount last weekend for the James Dean days. Probably 400 or so cars filling an entire park. It was mostly street rods and classics and they had oldies playing all day. I saw a roadster with a turboed Ecotec motor, and a Nash Metropolitan custom that was built using a stripped S2000. Complete drivetrain, cockpit, wheels and suspension, and a lot of little things integrated in. Was way cool. I went to the show to see my Dads car. He just got the car done after a 24 year restoration and I had not gotten to see it yet. He had taken it to 3 shows in the last month before James Dean and took home best original restored from all 3. He left on vacation the next day so I don't know how he did there. Most of the street rodders are really cool and love to talk about their cars. Everyone is laid back and a great family time. I had a good time.

most of the cars here seem to be more show and no go. I like more go before show, and I'm not a big fan of body kits. Not that I like the older cars "hot rods" but they seem to make them look good and go fast.
