is there a legitimate video, or webpage that would show the proper way to rebuild an engine?

Actually the Haynes manual covers the basics pretty darn well.
I used it when I rebuilt all of my motors.

Pretty much just follow the book. The best thing that you can do is learn hands on. After you rebuild one you pretty much get a good understanding on it. You can always search you tube though.

I've done 3 4g's with just a Hanes manual. It covers pretty much everything in a basic rebuild you will need. The clearances and specs are all very accurate.

Yeah, I was thinking about that good ol' haynes manual in the back of my car. That's cool that you guys recommended it, I've always liked the haynes.
sometime this spring, I want to start to rebuild. I really would like somebody to show me if they were to have the time. I have some files on my laptop that a friend gave me, I guess that they are from a dealer they are all .pdf I skimmed through them. Pretty good info. I think he told me that mavis gave them to him.

Thanks for the links! I saw the 10 min. build before, and recently searched for it and didn't find it. I put them on my myspace for safe keeping!

Actually, my dumbass blew my stage3 block&head from buschur with overheating it last summer. I didn't have the money for a diff. ride or for repairing so I tried to ride it out until I had funding again. well, now I have to spend way more money on the motor, then on cooling. I had my EMS ready to install, and was doing some shopping for 20g's and ffwd's fuel sys. but...

Ok, I just looked at the engine tear-down and specs. on a pdf I have. I don't have any of the specialty tools except for a torque wrench, compression check gauge, vacuum tool, and basic tools...I don't have pullers, or spring compressors, or seal installers...

I've got a ring compressor and piston ring pliers if you need to borrow them. Let me know what it is you need and I've probably got it laying around.

I have a homemade valve spring compressor you can use, I made it just for overhead cam valve springs. It's a somewhat crude tool but it does the job nicely

That's AWESOME. Now all that I need is a garage...
I'll probably be starting this in the spring when my tax and bonus checks arive. of course I'll be wanting to spend the least amount on everything and salvaging anything that I can. I'll be doing this in my shed, so If the motor does not need to be completely torn down, that would be super, I don't want to have to do the bottom end. I am still at the first stage of this, I'm planning on what I will need, how much money for each circumstance, and how I will do each of them. I still haven't done a diagnosis of what is wrong, because the car is still sitting in the same spot from that horrible day.

I'd pull the head off first and see what sort of damage is done to the cylinder head as far as warping. If it checks out fine and the pistons and cylinder bores look good I'd throw a new headgasket on it and get back to runnin.
