Basic hand tools and a cherry picker is all that is needed when pulling the motor. I did it, had the wife help.

Hey man, I am not trying to start anything, but do you just want to sell the car to me so I can get that thing back up and going? I have been wanting a AWD that is in decent shape for a reasonable price for a while. I bought a POS last time though.

I looked at yours and considered it, but I don't want to spend a lot. I didn't want to insult you by offering "x" amount for a running car. And to be honest I would like to have a black AWD, and his was black cherry.

Don't blame you. Black cherry was a good color. If you don't offer, I couldn't consider.

Man, I forgot all about that one, thanks for the heads up Corey! I do not have access to a welder, so I can probably have that one done at work. I just dropped off the engine hoist and the engine stand in the garage. going up tomorrow morning to tear it out, looking forward to some fun. On a slightly shitty side note to get it off of my chest because it's steaming me: getting ridiculed. having more people blow more shit in my direction. The Absolute rude comments, and not even the nice ignorant rudeness. I've had a great deal of life drop on my balls in the past 2 and a half years and that takes a toll on the memory of what I have kept up on reading for hours on end through forums and physical wrenching, so I am trying to stay focused on the big picture and rebuilding many things, not just my $3,000 4 cylinder. It's better than blowing my mind with drugs and alcohol, so get off of my nuts. you don't just say you don't want to start something and throw in a little broad humor and expect me to keep it to myself. it's a forum, it's the internet, a way to express intrest in something and gain/share knowledge for the enthusiast, I'm not a newbie here. Though I make it seem like it sometimes and i'm sorry for that.

P101330.jpg = I was thinking about doing the grind mod here, it helps to flow the oil more efficiently. Any thoughts?

Buy it, Port it and go! Just swap your old valve springs over.

Looks like the bead blasted it with everything together, guides and all. Should work though. You might want to check the surface with a straight edge just to make sure it is flat. Looking at it, it looks like it hasn't been re-surfaced, just cleaned. The visible lines are not uniform enough to have come from a surface job.

Looking over your pictures again, when you take your springs off, pull this valve out and make sure this is not a full crack. Its fairly rare these heads crack near the seats, but just to be on the safe side, I would double check.

Yeah, I was kinda looking at that today, i'll have to check the head out tomorrow. There is a small machine shop no more than ~1/4 mile from my house, i'll have him check it out. I'm going to take my stripped down block there to have him do the basics and if needed i'll take my crank to c&p I'm going to doubt right now (for budgeting sake) that I'll need anything linebored or any fancy expenses.

Very nice! You must have a really nice camera too. Those close up shots are really clear.
