Yea, he is pretty cool guy. Knows his stuff in the V8 world. He also does work on 4 cylinders. He dynoed for the guy that owns a starion from waterloo. Quite a few people he helped get around 20-30 hp just from tuning. They were mostly v8s and carbs, but does fuel injection too. Don't know if he has any experience with 4 cylinders and turbo.

Have to see how this winter goes. If I end up buying a house, my presence at track events will probably be pretty limited, but well see what happens.

If I had the viscous eliminated I would put the talon on the dyno. What are the pros and cons of eliminating the viscous? I know true 50/50 split and can run without the transfer case as a pro.

Less drivetrain slip and better launches. Car also launches more consistently. Google slow-mo dsm launch on youtube to see the difference.

Both the VSE and welded center diff can use a 2wd dyno. Welded center diff is much stronger though from a launching aspect.

Tried looking up how streetable a VSE or welded center is, but couldn't find much info on it. Was thinking it might be a good conversion since I drive the talon mainly in the winter time with plenty of snow on the ground. -Ben

I have a welded center in mine trans and really the only bad thing about it is sharp turns/parking lot maneuvers. It puts the drive line in a bind until the tires break loose. No VCE is needed with a welded center.
If your car is pretty much stock I would stick with the stock viscous coupling and might upgrade to a four spider center diff if you beat on it a lot. The VCE is really only good for dyno purposes from what Shep told me. They are very easy to install and uninstall.
