If you go to autozone or advance or something like that, the only way to get that gasket it to buy the whole "front cover gasket kit" or "oil pump gasket kit" something along those lines.

Wow, just replace the pump, gasket, and coolant tube o-ring and be done with the thing. Don't try and bandage a coolant leak, just fix it.

I wasn't trying to fix the coolant leak. I plan on replacing the pump. When I asked about RTV I was talking about the oil leak.

There is an actual gasket that goes there. I can't tell from the pic if there is one in there or not, you should be able to see if one is in there. Make sure all the bolts are tight first. That piece really can't be rtv'd because of the multiple ports in it. Both oil and coolant flow through it.

The coolant only runs through the sandwich cooler, and there is no gasket for that.

If it's leaking coolant from near the oil filter then it sounds like he may have overtightened the sandwich cooler. You may also want to drain the oil to make sure no coolant has made it's way in there.

There is a gasket that goes inbetween the Oil filter housing and the front cover. That is what it looks like is leaking in the pic. The oil leak and coolant leak are not related from what he was saying.

New one should only be $3 or so, but you'll probably have to get it from a dealership. Just tell them you need the oil filter housing gasket. and that should be it. Hopefully the leak is there and not the front case behind it. Just remember which bolt you pull from which hole as the 4 bolts are like 3 different lenghts (two are the same I think) and if you put the wrong one in, it may look tight, but it's not.

Mitsu dealer in New Haven, Hyundai dealer can get you parts if you tell them it's for a Plymouth Laser, and same at the Dodge dealer on Coliseum where Krebs works.
